bye bye, little man

Aelfred passed away at approximately 11:20am this morning, almost 19 years to the day that I got him. I still remember him that first day back in May of 1991--he'd shoved himself so far back in the cage at the Connecticut Humane Society, that all you could see were two tiny eyes. He spend his first few hours at the apartment on Orange Street in New Haven--his new home--under the radiators, hiding from everything. Over the years, he lost a bit of that shyness. All his years spent with me were filled with love and goodness. 19 years is far too short. I'll miss you bunches, little man... Rest in Peace.
