I had the most beautiful, frilly purple and brown/coffee colored irises bloom in the back of my house this season. I had forgotten that I had planted them, so it was a very pleasant surprise to go outside and find these waiting.
These pictures were taken on 18May2010. They don't quite do the flowers the justice they deserve--they are much more strikingly beautiful in person.
